Add Notes to Attio Company Records From a Excel

The Scenario

You are an account executive three days after the end of a product roadshow. Your manager asked you to make sure all 40 post-call notes are attached to the right Attio company records before the internal handoff meeting on Friday. Company name is in column A. Call summary is in column B. That's the whole workbook.

You pasted the first two by hand. Copy the company name from Excel, switch to Attio, search, click the result, scroll to Notes, click New Note, paste the summary, save. Back to Excel. Next row.

You stopped after the second one because the math isn't working out.

The bad version:

  • Continue pasting manually and block out Friday morning to finish.
  • Look for a notes import in Attio's CSV upload tool — find that it only covers object records, not notes.
  • Ask the ops team to build a macro, get back a quote of five business days.

The summaries are written. They're in the workbook. The only remaining problem is the 38 manual pastes between now and Friday.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent that lives inside your Excel workbook. Through its built-in Attio integration it matches each company name to an Attio record, creates a note with the call summary as the body, and writes the note ID back to the workbook.

Create an Attio note on the company matching column A for every row in this Excel sheet, using column B as the note body; populate column C with the resulting note ID.

What You Get

  • Column C fills with the note ID for each row once the note is created.
  • Each note is attached to the correct company record — visible to the team in Attio's company timeline.
  • Rows where the company name has no match in Attio show 'company not found' in column C.
  • All 40 notes carry the same title format — consistent and filterable later.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

Company names in the workbook don't exactly match Attio

"Acme Inc." in Excel, "Acme" in Attio.

Fuzzy-search Attio for each company name in column A; if a match is found create a note with content from column B and write the note ID in column C; if not found write 'not matched - verify name'.

You want to include the visit date in the note title

Column C in the workbook has the visit date.

For each row, find the Attio company by name in column A; create a note titled 'Call summary - [date from column C]' with body from column B; write the note ID into column D.

You want to tag the company record for follow-up if column D says so

For each row, look up the Attio company by name in column A; create a note titled 'Call summary' with body from column B; if column D is 'yes' add the tag 'follow-up-needed' to the company; write the note ID in column C.

Fuzzy-match, add dated notes, tag follow-ups, and log results in one pass

Fuzzy-search each company name in column A. If found: create a note titled 'Call summary - [column C]' with body from column B; if column D is 'yes' add tag 'follow-up-needed'; write the note ID in column E. If not found write 'not matched'.
