Bulk-Create CloudCart Products From an Excel Workbook Catalog

The Scenario

You are a small business owner launching a new CloudCart store. Your product catalog lives in an Excel workbook: 150 products, each with a name, price, SKU, description, quantity, and category ID. The workbook has been through three rounds of review. The store opens in three days.

The dashboard alternative:

  • Open CloudCart's product creation form in the browser
  • Switch between the Excel workbook and the browser tab, copying one field at a time
  • Save, return, start the next product
  • On product 55 you realize you have been pasting descriptions from the wrong column for the last twenty rows
  • You spend two days fixing the import and the store launches late.

One prompt handles the whole catalog.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent inside your Excel workbook that reads your catalog and pushes every product into CloudCart, so you never have to touch the dashboard.

Open the SheetXAI sidebar and type:

Create products in my CloudCart store for each row in this workbook. Column A is Name, column B is Price, column C is SKU, column D is Description, column E is Quantity, column F is Category ID. Skip any rows where Price is blank. After creating all products, pull the product list back from CloudCart and verify every SKU in column C appears in the response. Flag any missing SKUs in column G.

SheetXAI reads the workbook, posts each product to CloudCart, verifies the import, and writes results back to column G.

What You Get

A fully imported catalog with a built-in audit:

  • 150 CloudCart products created — all six fields matched from the workbook
  • Blank-price rows skipped — no zero-price placeholders go live
  • Column G SKU verification — any product that did not make it through is flagged immediately

You know the import is complete before you open the store. No manual spot-checking in the CloudCart dashboard.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

Excel product catalogs that have been through multiple review rounds often have formatting inconsistencies.

When SKU formats are mixed across supplier tabs

The workbook was assembled from three supplier exports and SKU formats differ: some use dashes, some underscores, some have no separator.

Normalize all SKUs in column C to uppercase with hyphens between segments. Then create CloudCart products for each row using the normalized SKUs, skipping rows where column B (Price) is blank.

When category IDs are missing for newer products

Rows added in the last round of review have a blank category ID in column F.

For any row where column F is blank, set Category ID to 14. Then create CloudCart products for all rows using columns A through F.

When descriptions contain Excel formula artifacts

Some description cells show formula text or #REF! errors because a linked workbook was not available during the last save.

Check column D for any cells that contain formula errors or start with =. Replace those cells with the text "Description pending." Then create CloudCart products for all rows.

When you need the full cleanup and import in one pass

Mixed SKU formats, missing category IDs, formula errors in descriptions, and you want CloudCart product IDs and a gap report when it is done.

Normalize column C SKUs to uppercase-hyphenated format. Set blank column F category IDs to 14. Replace formula errors in column D with "Description pending." Skip rows where column B is blank. Create CloudCart products for all remaining rows. Write the CloudCart product ID into column H for each success and the failure reason into column I.

The pattern: resolve all data issues inline before the import runs.
