Pull Flutterwave Settlement Data Into an Excel workbook

The Scenario

It's the third working day of the month. Your CFO just asked for the settlement reconciliation from last month — specifically, she wants to see every settlement date, the amount disbursed, and the currency, grouped in a way that makes it easy to compare against the four different bank accounts Flutterwave pays out to. This is not the first time she's asked. It's the third month in a row this same report has been requested.

The last two months, someone on the finance team spent the better part of an afternoon on it. The month before that, it was flagged in a retrospective as something that should be automated. Nothing changed.

The bad version:

  • You open the Flutterwave dashboard and navigate to Settlements — which is a different section from Transactions, with its own export format and its own quirks.
  • You download the CSV, open it in Excel, and realize the bank account reference comes through as a numeric ID, not the account name, so you have to do a manual VLOOKUP against a separate workbook your ops manager keeps on SharePoint.
  • You spend 30 minutes on the merge, then another 20 cleaning the currency formatting before the totals formula gives you anything meaningful.

The CFO's 11 AM meeting is in 40 minutes and she wants the numbers before she walks in.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent that lives inside your Excel workbook. It understands your existing layout and pulls Flutterwave settlement data directly into the workbook through its built-in integration — no CSV download, no lookup workbook, no format cleanup.

Fetch all Flutterwave settlements and write settlement ID, date, amount, currency, and status into the Settlements sheet, then calculate the total settled amount per currency at the bottom

What You Get

  • The Settlements worksheet fills with one row per settlement: ID, date, amount, currency, status.
  • A summary block at the bottom totals the settled amount for each currency independently.
  • The date column comes through in a consistent format your existing date filters can read.
  • Settlements with status "pending" are included in the data but excluded from the currency totals by default.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

You also need refunds from the past 60 days pulled into a separate worksheet

Get all Flutterwave refunds from the past 60 days and paste refund ID, original transaction ID, amount, and status into the Refunds sheet

The settlements report needs to be filtered to a specific date range matching last month

Fetch all Flutterwave settlements from 2025-04-01 to 2025-04-30 and write settlement ID, date, amount, currency, and status into the Settlements sheet, then add a total per currency at the bottom

You need the settlements sorted by bank account payout so the CFO can match them to individual account statements

Fetch all Flutterwave settlements, sort by bank account reference, and write settlement ID, date, amount, currency, bank account reference, and status into the Settlements sheet, then add a subtotal per bank account at the bottom

Full end-of-month package: settlements, refunds, net calculation, and a summary row — all in one shot

Fetch all Flutterwave settlements from last month and write settlement ID, date, amount, and currency into the Settlements sheet. Then fetch all refunds from the same period and write refund ID, original transaction ID, amount, and currency into the Refunds sheet. In the Summary sheet, write total settlements per currency, total refunds per currency, and net amount per currency.

One prompt for the whole month-end package. The CFO gets the three-worksheet view without your team spending half a day building it.
