Compare GTmetrix Scores Across Locations in a Google Sheet

The Scenario

You're the tech lead for a global e-commerce company. You have 10 key pages — homepage, product pages, checkout — and a board presentation next week where someone will inevitably ask how the site performs for users in Europe and Asia-Pacific versus the US.

A colleague ran the tests last time. They set up three browser tabs, ran each URL from London, then from Dallas, then from Sydney, and pasted the scores into an Excel workbook. It took most of Friday afternoon, and two of the London results got pasted into the Dallas column because the tabs were small and hard to tell apart.

The bad version:

  • Open GTmetrix, switch to the London test location, paste URL from row 1, wait for the test, copy the performance score, switch to the workbook, find the right row, paste in column B.
  • Switch back to GTmetrix, change the location to Dallas, rerun the same URL, copy the score, switch back to the workbook, paste in column C.
  • Switch to Sydney. Repeat. For all 10 URLs.
  • Discover three cells have the wrong location's score because you lost track during the tab-switching.

This task exists because someone needs a structured comparison. The comparison isn't the hard part — collecting the 30 data points in the right cells is.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent inside your Excel workbook. It reads column A, runs GTmetrix tests from each location you specify, and writes the results into the columns you designate — in one pass.

Run GTmetrix tests for each URL in column A from London, Dallas, and Sydney, and write the performance scores for each location into columns B, C, and D respectively. Use the "Page Comparison" worksheet.

What You Get

  • Column A: URL tested.
  • Column B: Performance score from the London test location.
  • Column C: Performance score from the Dallas test location.
  • Column D: Performance score from the Sydney test location.
  • Each row completed before moving to the next URL so results stay aligned.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

You want LCP instead of performance score for the comparison

Run GTmetrix tests for each URL in column A of the "Page Comparison" worksheet from London, Dallas, and Sydney. Write the LCP in milliseconds for each location into columns B, C, and D respectively.

Some URLs in column A have trailing slashes or mixed http/https — normalize first

Normalize the URLs in column A — ensure each starts with https:// and strip any trailing slashes — then run GTmetrix tests from Vancouver, London, and Sydney and write performance scores into columns B, C, and D.

You want to flag any URL where the score gap between best and worst location exceeds 15 points

Run GTmetrix tests for each URL in column A from London, Dallas, and Sydney, write performance scores into columns B, C, and D. Add column E showing the difference between the highest and lowest score for that row, and flag column F with "High variance" on any row where column E is greater than 15.

Full geographic audit: test three locations, surface regressions, add a summary row

Test each URL in column A of the "Page Comparison" worksheet with GTmetrix from London, Dallas, and Sydney. Write performance scores into columns B, C, and D. Add a column E with the average score across all three locations. Add a row at the bottom of the table with the average performance score for each location column. Flag any cell in columns B, C, or D where the score is below 65 with a note "Below threshold."

One prompt handles the testing, the averages, and the threshold flagging together.
