Bulk Delete Discontinued Items From Loyverse Using an Excel workbook

The Scenario

System audit is Monday. The operations director printed the compliance checklist. Line item 7: "Remove all discontinued items from Loyverse before audit review." An Excel file called 'Dead SKUs' has 50 discontinued variant IDs in column A — products that were pulled from the shelves two months ago but never removed from the POS.

It's Friday afternoon.

The bad version:

  • Open Loyverse's product editor. Search for each variant by ID or by name. Navigate into the parent item, find the variant tab, click delete, confirm.
  • 50 variants across multiple parent items. Each one is a multi-click sequence.
  • Some variants share names with active variants at different price points. You need to make sure you're deleting the right one.
  • By variant 30, you're not sure if variant 23 was successfully deleted or if you just navigated away from it. You check the list. It's still there. You deleted the wrong variant.

The audit is Monday. The catalog needs to be clean before then.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent that lives inside your Excel workbook. It reads your list of variant IDs and deletes each one from Loyverse in a single pass — no UI navigation, no wrong-variant risk.

Open the SheetXAI sidebar and paste this prompt:

Excel 'Dead SKUs' lists variant_id in column A for 50 discontinued variants — delete all of these variants from Loyverse

What You Get

  • All 50 variants deleted from Loyverse.
  • Each row's result written to column B: 'Deleted' or the specific error if a variant ID wasn't found or couldn't be deleted.
  • A final count: "50 of 50 variants deleted" or a breakdown of what succeeded and what needs manual review.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

You have item IDs instead of variant IDs

Excel 'Discontinue' has item_id in column A for 35 rows — delete all these items from Loyverse including their variants; write status in column B

Some variants may have already been deleted in a previous cleanup run

Excel 'Dead SKUs' — before deleting each variant, check if it still exists in Loyverse; write 'Already removed' in column B for any that are already gone, then delete the rest and write 'Deleted' in column B

You want to back up the variant data before deleting it

Excel 'Dead SKUs' — for each variant_id in column A, fetch the variant name, SKU, and item name from Loyverse and write to columns B/C/D as a backup record, then delete the variant and write 'Deleted' or the error in column E

Full audit-ready cleanup in one shot

Excel 'Dead SKUs' — for each variant_id in column A: check existence, write the variant name to column B if found, then delete it; write 'Deleted', 'Already removed', or error in column C; add a summary at the bottom: total deleted, total already removed, total failed
