The Scenario
You are a freight coordinator at a distribution company. Your team books LTL shipments through several connected LTL carriers in ShipEngine. The problem: nobody has a current list of which services and accessorials each carrier offers. Reps book from memory. Wrong accessorials get missed. The carrier adds fees at pickup or rejects the booking.
You need a consolidated reference table in Excel listing every connected LTL carrier with their current services and accessorial options before the quarterly planning call on Thursday.
The bad version of building this table:
- Log into ShipEngine's LTL section
- Click through to carrier one and document the services list
- Repeat for each carrier
- Type it all into the workbook
- Spend Wednesday on a table you should have had Monday.
The fast version is one prompt.
The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI
SheetXAI is an AI agent inside your Excel workbook that reads your connected LTL accounts from ShipEngine and pulls their current service and accessorial data into the workbook.
Open the SheetXAI sidebar and type:
Fetch LTL carrier services and package types for all connected LTL accounts in ShipEngine and paste into my Freight Reference Excel workbook — one section per carrier.
SheetXAI calls ShipEngine's LTL carrier endpoints, retrieves service and accessorial data for each connected carrier, and writes the results into the workbook organized by carrier.
What You Get
The Freight Reference workbook populated with one section per carrier:
- Carrier name — section header for each LTL carrier
- Service name — each available service level under that carrier
- Accessorial list — available accessorials per service: liftgate, inside delivery, residential, appointment delivery, etc.
The data reflects your account's actual configured LTL carriers, not a general catalog. If you added a new LTL account last month, it is in the workbook.
What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready
Freight reference data needs structure the ops team can actually use. SheetXAI builds the right format in the same prompt.
When you want a flat table instead of sections
Your team prefers a single sortable table they can filter by carrier.
Fetch LTL carrier services and accessorials for all connected ShipEngine LTL accounts. Write them into a flat table in the Freight Reference tab with columns for Carrier, Service Name, and Accessorial List. Sort by carrier name alphabetically.
When you want package types alongside services and accessorials
The ops team also needs to know which package types each carrier accepts for LTL freight.
Fetch LTL carrier services, accessorials, and package types for all connected ShipEngine LTL accounts. Write carrier name, service name, accessorial list, and available package types into the Freight Reference tab. One row per service per carrier.
When you want to add a notes column for internal carrier preferences
Your team has standing preferences for certain services in specific regions.
Fetch LTL carrier services and accessorials for all connected ShipEngine LTL accounts. Write carrier name, service name, and accessorial list into the Freight Reference tab. Add a blank Notes column at the end so the team can annotate regional preferences inline.
When you need the reference table and a 30-day usage summary to see which services are actually being booked
You want to know which services are in the catalog but never used.
Fetch LTL carrier services and accessorials for all connected ShipEngine LTL accounts and write them into the Freight Reference tab with carrier, service, and accessorial columns. Then fetch all LTL shipments from the past 30 days and write the distinct service codes used into a Used Services tab. In the Freight Reference tab, add a column indicating whether each service was used in the past 30 days.
The pattern: pull reference and usage data together so the Thursday planning call has real numbers, not guesses.
Try It
Get the 7-day free trial of SheetXAI and ask it to fetch your ShipEngine LTL carrier services and write them into a reference workbook. The ShipEngine integration is included in every SheetXAI plan.
