Bulk Assign Tapfiliate Affiliates to Groups From a Excel workbook

The Scenario

You're the partnership manager. Leadership approved a new five-tier affiliate structure three weeks ago: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, VIP. The mapping is done. Two hundred affiliates, each assigned to a tier in an Excel workbook — affiliate ID in column A, target group in column B.

The Tapfiliate groups haven't been updated. Every affiliate is still in their old category. The new tier-based commission rates go live Monday.

The bad version:

  • Open Tapfiliate, search for the first affiliate ID, open their profile, find the group field, change it to the new tier, save.
  • Search for the second affiliate ID. Repeat.
  • Around the 50th affiliate, realize that the group names in your Excel workbook say "Gold" but Tapfiliate's group is called "Gold Partners." Decide how to handle this.
  • Go back and fix the rows you already updated, then continue for 150 more.

The commission rate change goes live Monday. Today is Friday afternoon.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent that lives inside your Excel workbook. It reads the tier mapping and updates each affiliate's group in Tapfiliate through the built-in integration — no individual profile edits.

Update the group for all 200 affiliates listed in my Excel sheet — column A is affiliate ID, column B is the target group name

What You Get

  • Each affiliate in column A updated to the group in column B inside Tapfiliate.
  • Column C populated with the result for every row: "updated," "affiliate not found," or "group not found."
  • Rows where the group name doesn't exactly match a Tapfiliate group flagged specifically rather than silently failing.
  • All 200 affiliates updated in one operation.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

Group names in the workbook don't exactly match Tapfiliate group names

Your workbook says "Gold" but Tapfiliate has "Gold Partners." A translation table lives on the Groups worksheet.

For every row in this workbook, assign the affiliate in column A to the Tapfiliate group corresponding to the tier in column B. Use the mapping in the Groups worksheet to translate tier labels to exact Tapfiliate group names before making the update. Write the result to column C

Some affiliate IDs are from a legacy system and need to be resolved by email

Older rows in the workbook have legacy IDs that Tapfiliate doesn't recognize, but the email addresses in column C are current.

For each row in this workbook, try to update the affiliate group using the ID in column A. If the affiliate is not found by ID, look them up by the email in column C before making the update. Write the resolution method and update result to column D

You need to record the current group before overwriting it

Your audit trail requires a before-state for each affiliate.

For each affiliate in column A of this workbook, fetch their current group from Tapfiliate and write it to column C. Then assign the group in column B and write the update result to column D

Full tier migration with audit log

Process all rows in this workbook. Fetch the current group for each affiliate in column A and write it to column C. Skip rows where column C already matches column B (already in the right group). For all remaining rows, assign the group in column B. Write the update result to column D. Summarize total updated, skipped, and errored at the bottom of column D

One prompt handles the audit trail and the migration in a single pass.
