Compare Bing and Yandex Rankings in a Google Sheet for International SEO

The Scenario

You are an international SEO analyst at a media company that publishes content in English and Russian. Your team tracks 25 target keywords across two audiences — US English speakers on Bing and Russian speakers on Yandex.

The keywords are in column A. The target engine per keyword is in column B, with some rows labeled "Bing" and others "Yandex." Some keywords appear twice, once for each engine.

Your quarterly review is in three days. You have no rank data yet.

The bad version:

  • Take the first "Bing" keyword, open Bing, search for it, note where the target site appears, write it into the workbook.
  • Take the first "Yandex" keyword, switch to Yandex, run the search, note the position.
  • Repeat for all 25 pairs, switching engines back and forth.

The cognitive overhead of managing two different search engines, two different UIs, and a 25-row workbook across 45 minutes of manual work is real. And the next time you need this report, you do it again.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent inside your Excel workbook with Zenserp support for multi-engine searches. It reads the keyword and engine from each row and runs the right search.

Run a Yandex search for each keyword in column A using Zenserp and populate this Excel sheet with rank position, page title, and URL for the top 5 results per keyword

What You Get

  • Column C: rank position for result 1
  • Column D: page title for result 1
  • Column E: URL for result 1
  • Columns F–G: position and URL for result 2
  • Rows with unrecognized engine values in column B get a note in column C

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

Engine column uses inconsistent values

Column B has a mix of "Bing," "bing," "BING," "yandex.ru," and "Yandex." Zenserp's engine parameter is case-sensitive.

Normalize all values in column B to lowercase (bing or yandex) before running each search. Then use the normalized engine value to call Zenserp for each keyword in column A and write the top 3 results with position, title, and URL into columns C through E.

You need Bing results segmented by country

Some Bing keywords target the US market and others target the UK. Column C has the country code (us or gb) for each Bing row.

For each keyword in column A where column B is "bing," run a Zenserp Bing search using the country code in column C. For "yandex" rows, run a Yandex search without country filtering. Write rank position, title, and URL for the top 3 results into columns D through F.

You want Bing and Yandex results side by side for the same keyword

Some keywords need to appear in both columns for direct comparison rather than on separate rows.

For each unique keyword in column A, run a Bing search via Zenserp and write the top 3 positions into columns B through D. Then run a Yandex search for the same keyword and write the top 3 positions into columns E through G. Keep all keywords in column A without duplicating rows.

Full pipeline: both engines, delta against last quarter, flag dropped keywords

For each keyword in column A, run a Bing search via Zenserp and write the top rank position into column C. Run a Yandex search for the same keyword and write the top rank position into column D. Compare column C to the previous Bing rank in column G and write the delta in column E. Compare column D to the previous Yandex rank in column H and write the delta in column F. Flag any keyword that dropped more than 5 positions on either engine with "dropped" in column I.

Two engines, two comparisons, one flag column — one prompt.
