Bulk Create Basin Projects From a Google Sheet

The Scenario

You're a freelancer managing eight client accounts. Each client needs their own Basin project to keep their forms separate. You have a Google Sheet with all eight client names. You also have a second tab with existing forms that need to be reassigned once the projects exist. You want to finish this before your 10 AM client call.

The bad version:

  • Click "New Project" in Basin eight times, name each one, copy the project ID
  • Paste each ID into your sheet manually
  • Go back to each form and reassign it to the correct project one by one

You don't have time for that.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent inside your Google Sheet that reads the data and talks to Basin for you. No UI clicking, no manual ID tracking.

Open the SheetXAI sidebar and type:

Create a Basin project for each client name in column A of my sheet and write the new project IDs back to column B

What You Get

  • Eight Basin projects created, one per row, named exactly as written in column A
  • New project IDs written to column B immediately so you can use them for form assignments in the next step
  • Any rows that error (name collision, API limit) noted in column C

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

When client names in column A have trailing spaces or inconsistent capitalization

Create a Basin project for each client name in column A — trim whitespace and title-case each name before creating — write project IDs to column B

Create a Basin project for each row in column A, write project IDs to column B, then for each form ID in Sheet2 column A find its matching project by the client name in Sheet2 column B and reassign the form to that project

When some projects already exist and you want to skip duplicates

Check if a Basin project already exists for each name in column A — if it does, write the existing project ID to column B; if it doesn't, create it and write the new ID to column B

When you want it all in one shot

Create Basin projects for all rows in column A that don't already have an ID in column B, write new IDs to column B, then go to Sheet2 and reassign each form in column A to the project whose name matches column B — write "done" or the error to column C of Sheet2

The pattern: instead of creating projects first and then reassigning forms in a separate pass, you ask for both in one prompt.
