Export Performance Indicators From Connecteam Into a Google Sheet

The Scenario

Q2 reviews are three weeks out and the HR director just dropped a task in your queue: build the review template in Google Sheets, mapping each department's KPIs against Connecteam's performance indicator definitions. The indicator names and IDs need to match exactly — if they don't, the review forms won't sync back correctly.

You open Connecteam's performance section. There are 40 indicators across six departments. Each one needs to go into the sheet by hand.

The bad version:

  • Scroll through the performance indicators list in Connecteam, note the name and ID of each one into your sheet.
  • Get interrupted after indicator 18 by a meeting, return to the wrong spot in the list, and duplicate four entries.
  • Discover there's no direct export option for performance indicator definitions — just the performance data itself, which is a different export entirely.

The quarterly review template was supposed to be a two-hour task. It's now a two-day one.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent that lives inside your Google Sheet. It queries Connecteam's performance API and writes every indicator definition into the sheet — names, IDs, and any available metadata — in one call.

Retrieve all performance indicators from Connecteam and write their indicator name to column A and indicator ID to column B of my sheet, starting at row 2. Add headers in row 1.

What You Get

  • Every Connecteam performance indicator written into the sheet.
  • Indicator name in column A, ID in column B — ready to serve as the reference data for your review template.
  • Consistent output with no skipped entries and no duplicate rows.
  • Headers in row 1 so the sheet can immediately be used as a lookup table.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

You need to map performance indicators to departments

Your "Departments" tab has department names in column A and their associated performance indicator IDs (comma-separated) in column B. You want a flattened view that shows one row per indicator with its department.

Retrieve all performance indicators from Connecteam and write their name and ID to my "Indicators" tab. Then for each indicator ID, look up which department in my "Departments" tab includes that ID in column B and write the department name to column C.

Some indicator IDs in your review template don't match what Connecteam returns

You already built part of the template. Column A has indicator names you typed manually; column B has IDs you guessed. You need to verify and correct them.

Retrieve all performance indicators from Connecteam. For each row in my sheet where column A has an indicator name, find the matching name in the Connecteam results and overwrite column B with the correct ID. Flag any names in column A that don't match any Connecteam indicator in column C.

You only need indicators assigned to a specific set of departments

The Q2 review covers only Operations and Customer Success. You have those department IDs in your "Scope" tab.

Retrieve all performance indicators from Connecteam. Write only the indicators whose department matches a value in column A of my "Scope" tab to my "Filtered Indicators" tab. Include indicator name, ID, and department.

Kill chain: pull, match, build the review scaffold, and flag mismatches in one shot

You want the full indicator list, a verification pass against your draft template, the template updated with correct IDs, and a list of mismatches for follow-up.

Retrieve all Connecteam performance indicators and write their name and ID to my "Reference" tab. Then for each row in my "Template" tab where column A has an indicator name, match it against the reference list and write the correct ID to column B. If no match is found, write "No Match" in column C. Finally, write all "No Match" rows to my "Mismatches" tab.

One prompt builds the reference, verifies the template, corrects the IDs, and isolates the gaps.
