Pull Campaign Non-Openers from Constant Contact into a Google Sheet

The Scenario

You are an email marketer at a retail brand. You sent a campaign to 10,000 subscribers on Tuesday. The subject line did not land: open rate is 14%, well below your usual 22%.

You want to resend to the non-openers with a different subject line. First you need their list in a Google Sheet so you can create a targeted segment. Your resend window is Thursday at noon and it is currently Wednesday morning.

The bad version of this Wednesday:

  • Log into Constant Contact
  • Navigate to the campaign
  • Look for a "Did Not Open" report
  • Find it, export the list
  • Wait for the export email
  • Download the CSV
  • Open it in Sheets
  • Realize the CSV has 30 columns you do not need
  • Delete the extras, rename the headers
  • Wednesday afternoon: you still have to build the resend segment.

The fast version is one prompt.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent inside your spreadsheet that pulls non-opener data from Constant Contact directly, in the column format you need.

Open the SheetXAI sidebar and type:

Get all contacts who did not open the Constant Contact campaign activity ID from cell A1 and write their email and contact ID into my sheet. Put email in column A and contact ID in column B.

SheetXAI reads the campaign activity ID from A1, calls Constant Contact's did-not-open API endpoint, and writes every non-opener into the sheet.

What You Get

A sheet of non-openers, one per row, ready for the resend segment:

  • Column A — email address
  • Column B — Constant Contact contact ID

Two columns, nothing you did not ask for. You take that list, build the segment in Constant Contact, and set up the resend with a new subject line.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

Non-opener lists often need filtering before they become clean resend segments. SheetXAI handles it in the same prompt.

When you want to exclude contacts who have already opted out

You do not want to resend to people who have unsubscribed from any previous campaign.

Get all contacts who did not open campaign activity ID from cell A1. Exclude any contacts who have unsubscribed in the last 90 days. Write the remaining non-openers' email and contact ID into columns A and B.

When you need non-openers and their list memberships for segment targeting

You want to know which lists the non-openers belong to so you can refine the resend targeting.

Get all non-openers for campaign activity ID in cell A1. Write their email, contact ID, and list memberships into columns A through C. Flag any non-opener who is only on one list in column D as 'SINGLE-LIST'.

When you want to pull non-openers from multiple campaigns for a consolidated resend

You ran a three-part email series and want everyone who missed all three sends.

Get all contacts who did not open campaign activity IDs from cells A1, A2, and A3. Find contacts who appear in all three non-opener lists (missed all three sends). Write their email and contact ID into columns A and B.

When you need the full resend briefing: non-openers, original campaign stats, and resend subject line recommendation, in one pull

Get all non-openers for campaign activity ID in cell A1. Write their email and contact ID into columns A and B. Then in cell D1, write the original campaign's open rate. In cell D2, write a suggested alternative subject line based on the original subject line in cell B1, optimized for a resend to non-openers.

The pattern: instead of exporting a CSV and then stripping out columns, you describe the output the resend workflow needs and SheetXAI builds it directly.
