Add Company Fundamentals and Technical Indicators to Google Sheets From Finage

The Scenario

You're an equity analyst screening a list of 20 tickers for a value strategy. Your screening sheet in Google Sheets has the symbols in column A, but columns B through E are empty — you need company sector, market cap, employee count, and 14-day RSI for each ticker to apply your filter. Your model goes to the investment committee on Friday.

The handoff that built this watchlist came from a colleague who left the team last month. The sheet exists. The methodology exists. The data does not.

The bad version:

  • Look up each ticker's company details in the Finage fundamentals endpoint, copy sector, market cap, and employee count, paste into columns B through D. Twenty tickers.
  • Go back to the technical indicators endpoint for RSI, call each ticker separately with the 14-period parameter, copy the value, paste into column E. Twenty more calls.
  • Realize market cap is coming back in raw numbers (hundreds of billions) while your model expects millions, and spend an hour fixing the unit mismatch before the formula will run.

You were supposed to be doing the analysis, not sourcing the inputs.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent inside your Google Sheet that reads the tickers and connects to Finage directly. It calls the company details and technical indicator endpoints for each symbol and writes the combined output into your sheet — one prompt covers both data sources.

For each ticker in column A of my Google Sheet, fetch company details (sector, market cap, employees) and the 14-day RSI technical indicator from Finage and write the results into columns B through E

What You Get

  • Column B: company sector (e.g., Technology, Healthcare, Energy)
  • Column C: market cap in millions
  • Column D: employee count
  • Column E: 14-day RSI value, expressed as a number between 0 and 100
  • Tickers with missing fundamental data surface a note rather than silently writing zero

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

You also need the EMA-20 alongside RSI for the full technical picture

For each ticker in column A, fetch sector, market cap, and employee count from Finage company details, then fetch both the 14-day RSI and EMA-20 indicator values, and write all five fields into columns B through F

Some tickers on your list are ETFs, not equities, and don't have employee counts

For each ticker in column A, call the Finage company details endpoint and the 14-day RSI endpoint, write sector, market cap, employees, and RSI into columns B through E, and for ETFs that have no employee field write "ETF" in column D instead of leaving it blank

You want to apply a filter inline — only keep rows where RSI is below 40 and market cap exceeds 5 billion

For each ticker in column A, fetch sector, market cap, employees, and 14-day RSI from Finage, write the values into columns B through E, and in column F mark "SCREEN PASS" for any ticker where RSI is below 40 and market cap exceeds 5000 (millions)

You want to clear stale values, refresh everything, and summarize the sector distribution of screen-passing tickers in one pass

Clear columns B through F on my Screening sheet, fetch sector, market cap, employees, and 14-day RSI from Finage for every ticker in column A, apply the RSI below 40 and market cap above 5B filter in column F, and below the data table write a summary of how many screen-passing tickers fall into each sector

One prompt handles the data pull, the filter logic, and the summary in a single operation.

Try It

Open a Google Sheet with your equity screening tickers in column A. Get the 7-day free trial of SheetXAI and ask it to load company fundamentals and RSI from Finage in one pass. You can also ask it to pull historical OHLCV data for those same tickers, or return to the Finage hub for the full integration overview.
