Export a Release-to-Feature Mapping From Productboard to a Google Sheet

The Scenario

You're the release manager. Three releases are shipping in the next six weeks. Engineering wants a shared Google Sheet listing every feature assigned to each release, its current status, and who owns it — so they can build the launch checklist from it. You go to Productboard to pull this. The releases view shows you the features visually on a timeline. There is no "export this to a sheet" button.

The bad version:

  • Click into Release 1. Note the features. Switch to a spreadsheet tab. Type them in. Click back to Productboard. Check for features you missed.
  • Repeat for Release 2. Realize Release 1 had a feature added since you started. Go back.
  • After 45 minutes you have a sheet that is approximately right. Engineering has already started asking which features are theirs.

A launch checklist built on approximate data generates the wrong kind of conversations in the wrong places at the wrong time.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent that lives inside your Google Sheet. It reads your sheet and queries Productboard's release and feature data through its built-in integration.

List all Productboard releases and for each release list its assigned features — write release name, feature name, feature status, and feature owner into this sheet, one row per feature

What You Get

  • Every release written out with one feature per row.
  • Columns: release name in A, feature name in B, feature status in C, feature owner in D.
  • Features with no owner show "unassigned" — nothing silently missing.
  • The data reflects the live Productboard state at the moment you run it, not a snapshot from last week.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

You only want the next three releases, not all of them

List the three Productboard releases with the earliest scheduled dates and for each release list its assigned features with feature name, status, and owner — one row per feature, sorted by release date ascending

Some features span multiple releases

For each feature in Productboard that is assigned to more than one release, write the feature name in column A, and each release name it belongs to (comma-separated) in column B, with status in column C

You need to add a "team" column based on the owner name

After writing release name, feature name, status, and owner into columns A through D, look up the owner email in Sheet2 where column A is email and column B is team name, and write the matching team name into column E. If no match is found, write "unknown-team".

The full release-checklist build

Fetch all Productboard features assigned to the next 3 releases (by earliest date). Write release name in A, feature name in B, status in C, owner in D. Then for each row, add a column E that says "launch-ready" if status is "done" and "needs-review" for everything else. Sort by release name A to Z, then by feature name A to Z.

One prompt. The launch checklist is ready for engineering.
