The Scenario
It's Wednesday afternoon and the campaign is scheduled for Friday morning. You've just been handed an Excel workbook with 5,000 contacts that were scraped from a trade show registration form, a LinkedIn export, and two older list purchases — all merged into one column A. Nobody verified any of them.
The bad version:
- Save the workbook as a CSV, upload to Bouncer's dashboard, and wait 20 minutes for the batch to run
- Download the result file and open it next to your original workbook to try to match statuses back by row number, discovering that three rows shifted because of blank entries in the CSV export
- Manually filter the invalid rows out of the original workbook, recount the list, and update the campaign audience size in your email platform
The campaign is going to 40,000 contacts across six segments. This workbook is one segment. You have two others to verify by end of day, and you're already the person everyone pings for "just a quick data thing." There's no version of the CSV export loop that fits what's left of the afternoon.
The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI
SheetXAI is an AI agent that lives inside your Excel workbook. It reads your data and talks to Bouncer on your behalf — no exports, no dashboard toggling, no manual file rejoin. Open the SheetXAI sidebar, type what you need, and it handles the submission, polling, and writeback.
Submit all emails in column A to Bouncer for batch verification and write the result status (valid, invalid, catch-all, unknown) into column B — color-code any row red where the result is invalid or disposable.
What You Get
- Column B fills with a status label per row: valid, invalid, catch-all, or unknown
- Any row where the status is invalid or disposable gets a red background fill — immediately visible without any sorting
- The workbook stays in its original row order — no rejoining, no row count mismatch
- If the batch job takes longer than a few seconds, SheetXAI polls and writes results when ready, so you don't have to babysit the sidebar
What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready
The emails are mixed in with names in the same column
Column A contains entries like "Jane Smith jane@company.com" — extract just the email address from each cell, then submit the clean addresses to Bouncer and write statuses to column B.
Some rows have blank cells in column A
Skip any row in column A that is blank or contains only whitespace, submit all valid-looking email addresses to Bouncer, and write the status result to column B — leave column B blank for skipped rows.
The workbook has duplicates and you only want to verify each address once
Deduplicate column A by email address (keep the first occurrence), submit the unique emails to Bouncer for batch verification, write statuses to column B, and fill matching statuses down to any duplicate rows so every row has a result.
Clean, verify, remove, and report in one shot
In this workbook: remove any row where column A is blank or clearly malformed (no @ sign), deduplicate remaining emails keeping first occurrence, submit the list to Bouncer, write statuses to column B, delete all rows where the status is invalid or disposable, and tell me how many rows remain versus how many were removed.
The pattern: cleanup and verification don't have to be separate passes — a single prompt can handle the whole sequence.
Try It
Get the 7-day free trial of SheetXAI and open an Excel workbook with your next campaign list in column A. Ask it to run Bouncer verification and color-code the results. When you're done, see how to run a toxicity scan on a purchased list or head back to the Bouncer integration overview.
