Bulk-Create CloudCart Vendors From a Supplier List Sheet

The Scenario

You are the partnerships manager at a marketplace platform built on CloudCart. You have signed 60 supplier brands and the platform launches in two weeks. Each supplier submitted their brand name and logo URL through an onboarding form. The responses landed in an Excel workbook.

Every brand needs to exist as a CloudCart vendor before their products can be listed.

The dashboard approach:

  • Open CloudCart vendors, click "Add vendor"
  • Type the name, paste the logo URL, save
  • Repeat 60 times
  • Lose count of which brands are in CloudCart and which are still in the workbook
  • Spend the afternoon cross-referencing the workbook against the CloudCart vendor list row by row.

One prompt replaces the afternoon.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent inside your Excel workbook that reads the vendor list and creates every record in CloudCart.

Open the SheetXAI sidebar and type:

Add all vendors from this workbook to CloudCart. Column A is the vendor name and column B is the logo URL. Write the CloudCart vendor ID into column C for each successful row and the failure reason into column D for any failure.

SheetXAI works through all 60 rows, posts each vendor to CloudCart, and writes results back to the workbook.

What You Get

A complete vendor onboarding with confirmation:

  • 60 CloudCart vendors created — name and logo URL from the workbook
  • Column C with vendor IDs — reference for the product import phase
  • Column D failure log — any vendors that failed with a specific reason

The vendor IDs in column C are the handoff to the product import team. When each supplier sends their product catalog, the correct vendor ID is already mapped in the workbook.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

Supplier onboarding forms always produce messy data.

When logo URLs are broken or missing

Some suppliers submitted a placeholder or left the field blank. You want the vendor created with a default logo and a flag to follow up.

For any row in column B where the value is blank or does not start with "http", use the default logo URL https://cdn.sheetxai.com/placeholder-vendor.png and flag the row in column E. Then create all CloudCart vendors using columns A and B.

When brand names have inconsistent capitalization

The form responses have a mix of all-caps, title case, and lowercase.

Convert all values in column A to title case. Then create CloudCart vendors using the formatted names in column A and logo URLs in column B.

When duplicate vendor names appear from form re-submissions

Some suppliers filled out the form twice. You want one record per unique brand name.

Deduplicate the workbook by column A keeping the first occurrence. Then create CloudCart vendors for the deduplicated list and write vendor IDs into column C.

When you need the full cleanup and onboarding in one pass

Mixed capitalization, broken logo URLs, duplicate submissions, and you need clean vendor IDs for the product import phase.

Deduplicate by column A keeping the first occurrence. Convert column A to title case. For blank or invalid column B URLs, use the default logo and flag the row in column E. Create CloudCart vendors for all rows. Write vendor IDs into column C and failures into column D.

The pattern: normalize, deduplicate, create, and capture IDs in one instruction.
