The Scenario
You are a sales director. On Tuesday your team designed 4 follow-up subsequences in an Excel workbook. Each row in the configuration table has a subsequence name, trigger condition, trigger value, email subject, and email body.
They need to exist in Instantly by Thursday morning so SDRs can start using them Thursday afternoon.
The slow version:
- Log into Instantly
- Open the campaign, find the subsequence settings
- Click "create subsequence", fill in name, trigger, and email step
- Repeat for subsequences 2, 3, and 4
- Realize you misread the trigger condition for subsequence 3, go back and fix it
- It is Thursday morning and you are still in the Instantly UI.
The fast version is one prompt.
The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI
SheetXAI reads your configuration table and creates each subsequence in Instantly without you touching the UI.
Open the SheetXAI sidebar and type:
Read the subsequence configuration table in the Config tab (columns: Subsequence Name, Trigger Type, Trigger Value, Email Subject, Email Body) and create each one in Instantly campaign 'Enterprise Q3'.
SheetXAI reads each row, calls the Instantly API to create the subsequence, and writes a confirmation back to the Config tab.
What You Get
Four subsequences created in Instantly without opening the subsequence settings UI:
- Subsequence names — exactly as labeled in the workbook
- Trigger conditions — from the configuration columns
- Email step — subject and body from the workbook, ready to send
- Confirmation column — the created subsequence ID for each row
The workbook becomes the source of truth. Update a row, run the prompt again next quarter.
What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready
Strategy-session configuration tables are never perfectly structured.
When trigger values have inconsistent formatting
Some rows say "interested", others "INTERESTED", others "Is Interested".
Normalize the Trigger Value column of the Config tab: lowercase all values and replace spaces with underscores. Then create each subsequence in campaign 'Enterprise Q3' and write the result into column F.
When the email body has unverified placeholders
Your team used {{first_name}} and {{company}} in the body column. Confirm they are valid before creating.
Check each row's Email Body column in the Config tab for Instantly-compatible placeholders. Flag any row where a placeholder is not in the approved list (first_name, last_name, company, website). Create subsequences only for rows that pass the check.
When some rows are incomplete
A few rows are missing the Email Subject or Email Body because the copywriter has not finished them.
For each row in the Config tab, check that all required fields are filled in. Skip any row with a blank and write "INCOMPLETE — skipped" into column F. Create subsequences for all complete rows.
When you need to create subsequences across two campaigns from one table
A column specifies which campaign each subsequence belongs to.
For each row in the Config tab, create the subsequence in the Instantly campaign listed in column F. Use the Subsequence Name, Trigger Type, Trigger Value, Email Subject, and Email Body columns. Write the result and campaign name into column G.
The pattern: configure in a workbook, create with one prompt.
Try It
Get the 7-day free trial of SheetXAI and open any subsequence configuration workbook, then ask it to create all of them in Instantly. The Instantly integration is included in every SheetXAI plan.
