Bulk Import Keywords Into Keyword.com From a Excel workbook

The Scenario

You're forty minutes out from a client kickoff call and you're still staring at the planning workbook — 300 rows, each with a target keyword in column A, a target URL in column B, a device type in column C, and a Google region in column D. The Keyword.com project exists. The keywords do not.

The bad version:

  • Open Keyword.com, navigate to the project, and start typing keywords one at a time into the add-keyword dialog — 300 times.
  • Export the workbook as a CSV, discover that the column order doesn't match what Keyword.com expects, spend twenty minutes reformatting the file.
  • Get through 150 keywords before the client joins the call, spend the meeting explaining that tracking "isn't fully configured yet."

Your job right now is SEO strategy, not data entry. The kickoff call is in forty minutes and the account lead is already on Slack.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent that runs inside your Excel workbook. It reads your data directly — column headers, values, row count — and talks to Keyword.com on your behalf through a built-in integration. No CSV export, no reformatting, no copy-paste loop.

Open the SheetXAI sidebar and run this prompt:

Add every keyword in column A of this sheet to Keyword.com project ID 4821, using the URL in column B, device in column C, and Google region in column D for each keyword, then write the returned keyword IDs back to column E.

What You Get

  • All 300 keywords added to Keyword.com project 4821 in a single operation.
  • Device type and Google region applied per keyword, exactly as specified in columns C and D.
  • Keyword IDs returned by Keyword.com written back to column E — one per row, in order.
  • Any rows that fail (invalid region code, duplicate keyword) flagged in column F with the error message from the API.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

Device values aren't in the format Keyword.com expects

Check every value in column C of this sheet. If any value is 'Mobile' instead of 'mobile' or 'Desktop' instead of 'desktop', normalize it to lowercase, then add all keywords to Keyword.com project 4821 using the corrected device values.

Region codes are mixed — some rows have country codes, some have locale strings

For every row in this sheet, if column D contains a two-letter country code like 'US' or 'GB', convert it to the full locale string ('en-US', 'en-GB') before adding the keyword to Keyword.com project 4821. Use the URL in column B and device in column C for each row.

Keywords are spread across two worksheets — one for branded, one for non-branded

Combine the keyword lists from the 'Branded' worksheet and the 'Non-Branded' worksheet — using columns A through D from each — and add all keywords to Keyword.com project 4821, then write keyword IDs back to column E on the respective worksheet where each keyword came from.

The workbook has stale keywords that need removing before the fresh import

First, bulk-delete from Keyword.com project 4821 every keyword whose ID is in column E and whose column F says 'REMOVE'. Then add every keyword in column A where column F is blank to Keyword.com project 4821 using columns B through D for settings, and write the new IDs back to column E.

The most efficient imports combine cleanup and addition in a single ask — rather than running two separate operations and reconciling the results by hand.
