Compare Moz Link Equity Distribution Across Competitors in a Google Sheet

The Scenario

The SEO strategist has been asked to present a competitive link equity analysis at next week's quarterly review. The question on the table: are competitors concentrating their authority in a handful of pages, or is it spread more evenly across the site? Five competitors, top 20 pages each, with Page Authority as the primary signal. The strategist knows what the output should look like — one worksheet per competitor, URL and PA columns, sorted by PA. What is not clear is how to get there without spending most of next Monday building it.

The bad version:

  • Pull up Moz Link Explorer for the first competitor. Navigate to top pages. Export or manually note the top 20 URLs and their PA scores.
  • Create a new worksheet in the workbook. Paste. Rename the worksheet.
  • Repeat for competitors two through five. By the time you get to competitor four, you have a different number of columns in one of the worksheets because you accidentally included an extra metric in that export.
  • Spend twenty minutes making all five worksheets consistent before you can even start the analysis.

The quarterly review is next Thursday and this was supposed to be one afternoon of work.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent that lives inside your Excel workbook. It can pull Moz top pages for multiple domains and write results into separate worksheets — naming each worksheet after the corresponding domain — in one prompt.

For each domain in column A, fetch the top 20 pages from Moz and write each page URL and Page Authority into a separate worksheet named after the domain.

What You Get

  • A new worksheet is created for each domain listed in column A, named after that domain.
  • Each worksheet contains page URLs in column A and Page Authority scores in column B, sorted by PA descending.
  • All worksheets use the same structure, making cross-worksheet comparison straightforward.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

The analysis needs a third metric — external linking domains to each page — as a secondary authority signal.

For each domain in column A, fetch the top 20 pages from Moz and write page URL, Page Authority, and external link count to columns A, B, and C in a new worksheet named after each domain, sorted by PA descending.

One of the competitor domains returns fewer than 20 indexed pages

Some smaller competitors do not have 20 indexed pages in Moz. You need the worksheet to reflect whatever Moz returns, not error out.

For each domain in column A, fetch as many top pages as Moz returns up to a maximum of 20, write page URL and Page Authority to columns A and B in a new worksheet named after the domain. If fewer than 20 pages are returned, write whatever is available.

You want a summary worksheet that shows the top page PA for each competitor in one view

After pulling the top pages for each competitor domain in column A into separate worksheets, create a Summary worksheet showing each domain in column A and the Page Authority of its highest-ranking page in column B, sorted by that PA score descending.

Full analysis setup — pull, summarize, and flag the top performer — in one prompt

For each domain in column A, pull the top 20 pages from Moz and write URL and Page Authority to a new worksheet named after the domain. Then create a Summary worksheet showing each domain in column A and its highest-PA page's score in column B. Mark the row in the Summary worksheet where column B is highest with "Leader" in column C.

Pull the competitor data, build the summary, and identify the authority leader in one operation.
