Export Open PayPal Disputes to an Excel Workbook for Customer Service Triage

The Scenario

You are a marketplace operator. It is Monday morning and your head of customer service needs a snapshot of all open PayPal disputes from the past 60 days — with dispute ID, reason, amount, status, and latest update date — so agents can be assigned before the 9 AM standup. The PayPal dispute dashboard shows disputes one at a time. There is no export button.

The slow version:

  • Open PayPal's Resolution Center
  • Click through each open dispute and copy the details
  • Paste into Excel, one dispute at a time
  • Realize you missed several on the second page
  • Go back, find them, add them
  • The standup starts in 8 minutes and you have 11 disputes. You have 23.

The fast version is one prompt.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent inside your Excel workbook that queries PayPal's disputes API and builds the tracker for you.

Open the SheetXAI sidebar and type:

Fetch all PayPal customer disputes and populate my Excel Dispute Tracker sheet with dispute ID, reason, amount disputed, status, and latest update date.

SheetXAI calls PayPal's disputes API, fetches all disputes, and writes them into the Dispute Tracker tab.

What You Get

A disputes workbook ready for assignment:

  • Dispute ID — direct PayPal reference
  • Reason — ITEM_NOT_RECEIVED, UNAUTHORIZED_TRANSACTION, etc.
  • Amount disputed — the contested amount
  • Status — OPEN, UNDER_REVIEW, WAITING_FOR_SELLER_RESPONSE, etc.
  • Latest update date — for prioritization

No Resolution Center browsing, no pagination, no manual copying. SheetXAI handles everything.

Add an Assigned To column to the prompt and SheetXAI leaves it blank for your team to fill in during the standup.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

Dispute trackers need enrichment to be actionable. SheetXAI handles it inline.

When you want disputes split by state into separate tabs

The customer service manager wants OPEN, UNDER_REVIEW, and WAITING_FOR_SELLER_RESPONSE in separate tabs.

Fetch all PayPal customer disputes and write them into the Dispute Tracker tab with dispute ID, reason, amount disputed, status, and latest update date. Then create separate tabs for each distinct status containing only the disputes at that status.

When you need to flag disputes approaching response deadlines

Disputes more than 14 days old and still open are approaching the PayPal response window.

Fetch all open PayPal disputes from the last 60 days. Write dispute ID, transaction ID, amount, create time, and days open into the Outstanding Disputes tab. Add a Deadline Flag column: mark URGENT if days open is more than 14, otherwise NORMAL.

When you want to exclude a specific dispute reason from the triage list

Your team handles UNAUTHORIZED_TRANSACTION disputes through a separate security workflow. You do not want them in the general triage list.

Fetch all open PayPal disputes from the last 60 days. Exclude any rows where the reason is UNAUTHORIZED_TRANSACTION. Write dispute ID, reason, amount, and create time into the Dispute Tracker tab.

When the manager needs a summary tab alongside the raw list

The manager wants the raw list in one tab and a one-page summary in another.

Fetch all PayPal disputes from the last 90 days regardless of state. Write the full list to the Dispute History tab with dispute ID, reason, amount, state, create time, and resolution date. Then create a Summary tab showing total count and total amount disputed per state.

The pattern: the dispute list, the filter, and the summary all happen in one prompt. No browsing the dashboard.
