Build a ProAbono Feature Adoption Matrix in Excel

The Scenario

You are a product manager at a SaaS company. The growth team wants to run an upgrade campaign targeting customers who already have the "advanced-reports" feature enabled on their current plan, because those customers are the highest-signal audience for a new premium tier.

You have 400 ProAbono customers and you need a list of which ones have that feature, with customer reference, name, and current offer name, in an Excel workbook. The campaign brief is due Friday afternoon.

The slow version:

  • You ask engineering for a database query
  • They say two days
  • You check ProAbono's customer list manually, find there is no filter by feature access
  • You export the full customer list and start checking feature access per customer in the UI
  • You get through 40 customers before the meeting cuts you off
  • You send the campaign team a note saying the list is not ready.

The fast version is one prompt.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent inside your Excel workbook that can query ProAbono's feature access endpoint and build the list you need without any engineering involvement.

Open the SheetXAI sidebar and type:

List all ProAbono customers who have access to the feature 'advanced-reports'. Write customer reference into column A, customer name into column B, and their current subscription offer name into column C of the Audience tab in this workbook. Add a row count at the bottom.

SheetXAI queries ProAbono's feature access list, pulls the matching customers, retrieves their offer names, and writes the data into the Audience tab. You have your campaign audience before the end of the morning.

What You Get

A clean campaign audience list in the Audience tab:

  • Customer reference — column A, ready to upload to your email tool
  • Customer name — column B, for personalization
  • Offer name — column C, so you can segment by plan tier within the audience
  • Row count — so you know the audience size before you brief the campaign team

The list reflects ProAbono's current feature access state, not a cached export. If a customer downgraded yesterday and lost the feature, they are not in the workbook.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

Feature adoption analysis often requires a few additional layers. SheetXAI handles them inline.

When you need to build a multi-feature adoption matrix

The campaign team wants to know which customers have "advanced-reports" AND which have "custom-exports" and which have both.

For each feature code in column A of the Features tab ('advanced-reports', 'custom-exports', 'api-access'), fetch the list of ProAbono customers who have that feature. Write the customer count into column B and a comma-separated list of customer references into column C.

When you want to exclude customers already on the highest tier

You only want to target customers who have the feature but are NOT on the Enterprise plan.

List all ProAbono customers who have access to 'advanced-reports' and whose current subscription offer is NOT 'Enterprise'. Write customer reference, name, and offer name into columns A, B, and C of the Audience tab.

When you need to cross-reference against a CRM do-not-contact list

Marketing has a suppression list in column A of the DNC tab. You need to remove those before sending to the campaign tool.

List all ProAbono customers with access to 'advanced-reports'. Check each customer reference against the DNC tab, column A. Remove any matches from the output. Write the clean list into columns A, B, and C of the Audience tab.

When you want the full adoption picture for a product review

The product team wants to see, for every feature in ProAbono, how many customers have access and what their plan distribution looks like.

List all ProAbono features. For each feature, count how many customers have access and break that count down by offer name. Write feature name into column A, total customer count into column B, and a breakdown by offer into column C of the Product Review tab (formatted as "Starter: 40, Growth: 120, Enterprise: 15").

The pattern: instead of waiting two days for an engineering query, you describe the audience you need and SheetXAI builds it from ProAbono directly.

Try It

Get the 7-day free trial of SheetXAI and open a blank workbook, then ask it to list all ProAbono customers with access to any feature code. The ProAbono integration is included in every SheetXAI plan. For related workflows, see how to export feature usage and quota data in Excel or the ProAbono in Excel overview.
