Export a Release-to-Feature Mapping From Productboard to a Excel workbook

The Scenario

Three releases are shipping in the next six weeks. Engineering wants an Excel workbook listing every feature per release with its status and owner so they can build the launch checklist. You're the release manager. The releases view in Productboard shows features on a visual timeline. There is no "export to workbook" option.

The bad version:

  • Click into Release 1. Write down the features. Switch to Excel. Type them in. Switch back to Productboard to check for stragglers.
  • Repeat for Release 2. Notice Release 1 got a feature added while you were on Release 2. Go back and add it.
  • After 45 minutes you have a workbook that is approximately right. Engineering is already pinging you asking which features are theirs.

A launch checklist built on "approximately right" data produces the wrong kind of pre-launch conversations.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent that lives inside your Excel workbook. It reads your workbook and queries Productboard's release and feature data through its built-in integration.

For the release IDs in column A of this Excel sheet, fetch all assigned features from Productboard and fill columns B, C, and D with feature name, status, and owner

What You Get

  • Every feature assigned to each release, one row per feature.
  • Feature name in column B, status in column C, owner in column D.
  • Features with no owner show "unassigned" — nothing silently omitted.
  • The data reflects the live Productboard state when you run it — no stale screenshots.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

You want all releases fetched automatically, without providing release IDs

List all Productboard releases and for each release list its assigned features — write release name in column A, feature name in column B, feature status in column C, and feature owner in column D. One row per feature.

Some features span multiple releases

For each Productboard feature assigned to more than one release, write the feature name in column A and all its release names comma-separated in column B with status in column C

You want a team column derived from the owner email

After writing release name, feature name, status, and owner in columns A through D, look up the owner email in Sheet2 where column A is email and column B is team name — write the matching team name into column E. Write "unknown-team" if no match.

The full launch-checklist build

Fetch all Productboard features assigned to the next 3 releases by earliest date. Write release name in A, feature name in B, status in C, owner in D. Add column E: "launch-ready" if status is "done", "needs-review" for everything else. Sort by release name A to Z, then feature name A to Z.

Engineering gets the checklist before the sprint planning call.
