Export Productlane Projects With Progress and Upvote Counts Into a Excel

2026-05-14
5 min read

The Scenario

It is the last Thursday of the month. You have a stakeholder report due tomorrow covering all 15 active Productlane projects — progress percentage, upvote count, and current state for each. The data lives in Productlane. The report template is an Excel workbook.

You have done this three times before and each time it took about an hour of clicking.

The bad version:

  • Open the Productlane projects list and click into each project to find the progress percentage.
  • Upvote counts are not visible in the list view — you have to open each project individually.
  • After project 8 you lose track of which ones you have already copied and have to cross-reference with the workbook.

The report is due to leadership by 9 AM Friday. The clicking approach has run out of runway.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent that lives inside your Excel workbook. It reads your Productlane workspace and pulls the full project list — with progress and upvote counts — directly into the workbook.

Export all projects from our Productlane workspace into this Excel workbook with columns: project ID, name, description, state, progress — sort by upvote count descending

What You Get

  • Column A: Productlane project ID
  • Column B: project name
  • Column C: project description
  • Column D: current state
  • Column E: progress percentage
  • All workspace projects sorted by customer upvote count, highest first

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

You only want active projects

List all Productlane projects where state is active — write project ID, name, description, state, and progress into columns A through E — sort by upvote count descending

You want to include upvote count as its own column

Export all Productlane projects and write project ID, name, state, progress percentage, and upvote count into columns A through E — sort by upvote count descending

The description column is too long for the report format

Export all active Productlane projects and write project ID, name, state, progress percentage, upvote count, and first 100 characters of description into columns A through F

Full export, filtered, sorted, and trimmed in one shot

Export all Productlane projects where state is active or completed — exclude cancelled — write project ID, name, state, progress percentage, upvote count, and first 100 characters of description into columns A through F — sort by upvote count descending then by progress descending

One prompt produces a complete, sorted project workbook.
