Pull the Razorpay Settlement Report Into an Excel Workbook for Month-End Close

The Scenario

You are a chartered accountant. It is the 3rd of April. Your client's March accounts are due by the 7th. The last item standing between you and a clean close is the Razorpay settlement reconciliation.

You need to match every Razorpay settlement UTR number against the March bank statement credits in the workbook. 34 bank credits. 31 Razorpay settlements. The amounts don't always land in the same order.

The slow version:

  • Log into Razorpay dashboard, navigate to Account & Settings → Reports → Settlement Reconciliation
  • Export the March CSV — 22 columns, only 5 matter
  • Open it in Excel, clean it up, paste it into the Settlements tab
  • Write an INDEX-MATCH to compare UTRs against the Bank Statement tab
  • Discover three UTRs are in neither dataset — email Razorpay support
  • The close is delayed by two days.

The fast version is one prompt.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent inside your Excel workbook that pulls the Razorpay settlement data and runs the matching against your bank statement tab.

Open the SheetXAI sidebar and type:

Fetch the Razorpay settlement reconciliation report for March 2025. Import settlement ID, UTR number, settlement amount in rupees, and settlement date into the Settlements tab of this workbook. Then compare the UTR numbers in the Settlements tab against column B of the Bank Statement tab. Mark any UTR that appears in both as "Matched" in column E. Mark any UTR in the settlement data but not in the bank statement as "Missing from Bank" in column E.

SheetXAI pulls the March settlement data, writes it into the Settlements tab, and runs the comparison. You see the gaps immediately.

What You Get

A complete reconciliation workbook:

  • Settlements tab — settlement ID, UTR number, amount, and date for every March settlement
  • Column E — "Matched" or "Missing from Bank" per row
  • No INDEX-MATCH — the comparison runs in the prompt

Missing UTRs are visible before the close deadline, not after.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

When UTR formats differ between Razorpay and the bank statement

Razorpay stores RAZR0001234567; your bank shows RAZR-0001234567.

Fetch the Razorpay settlement data for March 2025. Before comparing against the Bank Statement tab, strip hyphens from both the settlement UTRs and column B of the Bank Statement tab, then match on the normalized values. Write "Matched" or "Missing from Bank" in column E.

When you need to compare amounts as well as UTRs

After matching UTRs, add column F comparing the settlement amount in column C against the bank credit amount in column D of the Bank Statement tab. Write the difference in column F. Flag rows where the difference exceeds ₹100 as "Amount Mismatch."

When a settlement from 31 March landed in April

Fetch the Razorpay settlement data for 1–31 March 2025. Filter to settlements where the settlement date (not the transaction date) falls within March. Import only those rows and run the bank statement comparison.

When you want the full recon pass — pull, match, flag, and draft a discrepancy note

Fetch the Razorpay settlement recon for March 2025 and import into the Settlements tab. Compare UTRs against column B of the Bank Statement tab. Flag each row as "Matched," "Missing from Bank," or "Amount Mismatch" (difference > ₹100). Then write a summary paragraph starting in cell H1: total settlements, total matched, total missing, and total amount mismatches. I will copy it into the client report.

The pattern: the pull, the comparison, and the summary note all come out of one prompt.
