Export a Resend Sent-Email Log Into Excel Workbooks for Deliverability Analysis

The Scenario

You are a deliverability analyst. Open rates have been sliding for three weeks and the hypothesis is that your active list has accumulated stale addresses that are bouncing silently.

You need the last 200 Resend outbound emails in an Excel workbook: recipient, subject, send timestamp, and delivery status. You will filter by bounced and failed, identify patterns by domain, and bring the analysis to Thursday's deliverability review.

The bad version:

  • You navigate to the Resend Emails section in the dashboard
  • The list is there but there is no export button
  • You start copying rows into the workbook, one at a time
  • After 30 rows your spreadsheet cells are auto-formatting the timestamps and you do not notice until row 45
  • Thursday's review gets a 30-row sample with corrupted dates and nobody trusts the analysis.

The fast version is one prompt.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent inside your Excel workbook that reads the Resend API and writes the email log into the workbook for you.

Open the SheetXAI sidebar and type:

Fetch all recent Resend outbound emails and paste recipient address, subject, send timestamp, and delivery status into the EmailLog tab in this workbook for a deliverability review. Use row 1 as a header row.

SheetXAI calls the Resend emails endpoint, pulls the recent records, and writes one row per email. Recipient in A, subject in B, timestamp in C, status in D. Every record from the API, timestamps formatted correctly.

What You Get

A populated EmailLog tab:

  • Column A — recipient email addresses
  • Column B — subject lines
  • Column C — send timestamps
  • Column D — delivery status (delivered, bounced, failed, etc.)
  • Row 1 — headers

Every record is there, pulled directly from Resend's API. Filter column D by "bounced" right away, sort by column C to see when the dip started, group by domain to see if specific providers are the problem.

The data lives in the workbook alongside your other analysis tabs, not in a dashboard you have to navigate back to.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

Deliverability analysis is more useful with extra context. SheetXAI can extend and annotate the log in the same prompt.

When you want to see only the failed and bounced emails

You do not need 200 rows if you are only looking for problems.

Fetch recent Resend outbound emails. Filter to only rows where status is "bounced" or "failed" and write those into the EmailLog tab with recipient, subject, timestamp, and status in columns A through D.

When you want to flag repeat-failure addresses

The same address bouncing multiple times suggests a stale list entry.

Fetch recent Resend outbound emails and write recipient, subject, timestamp, and status into columns A through D of EmailLog. Add "REPEAT FAILURE" in column E for any address that appears in more than one bounced or failed row.

When you want to group failures by domain

If a whole domain is failing, it is likely a blocklisting issue, not a list quality problem.

Fetch recent Resend emails. Write recipient, subject, timestamp, and status into columns A through D of EmailLog. Extract the domain from each address in column A and write it into column E. Mark "DOMAIN ISSUE" in column F for any domain that appears in more than three failed or bounced rows.

When you need the full deliverability audit in one shot

You want all records, flagged failures, repeat-failure addresses, domain summary, and a status count for Thursday's review.

Fetch the last 200 Resend emails and write recipient, subject, timestamp, and status into columns A through D of EmailLog. Add the recipient domain in column E. Flag "REPEAT FAILURE" in column F for addresses in more than one bounce or failure row. Add a summary table starting at row 205 showing total sent, total delivered, total bounced, total failed, and the top 5 domains by failure count.

The pattern: pulling the log and annotating it happen in one prompt. Thursday's review gets a complete picture.
