List All Shippo Carrier Parcel Templates Into a Reference Workbook

The Scenario

You are on the packaging team at a mid-size e-commerce company. When someone builds a new shipment in Shippo, they need to pick the right package_code for the carrier, USPS flat-rate envelope, FedEx small box, UPS tube. Right now they Google it, and half the time they pick the wrong one and the label gets rejected at the carrier.

What you actually need is a lookup table in Excel listing every available Shippo carrier parcel template, sorted by carrier, that the team can search without leaving the workbook.

The slow version:

  • You check Shippo's documentation, copy-paste templates you recognize
  • You miss several because the docs are not comprehensive
  • Someone picks a deprecated package code next week anyway.

The fast version is one prompt.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI calls Shippo's carrier template endpoint and writes the full list into the workbook as a sorted lookup table.

Open the SheetXAI sidebar and type:

List all Shippo carrier parcel templates and paste into my Package Codes tab as a lookup table, sorted by carrier then by package name.

SheetXAI retrieves every carrier parcel template across all carriers in your Shippo account and writes carrier name, template name, token, and dimensions into the workbook, sorted by carrier then by template name.

What You Get

A complete, sortable carrier package reference in the workbook:

  • Carrier — USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL, and any others in your account
  • Template name — human-readable, like "USPS Flat Rate Envelope" or "FedEx Small Box"
  • Token — the package_code your team passes when creating a shipment
  • Dimensions — length, width, height so staff can match the physical package to the right template

The workbook is sortable and filterable. Your team types "USPS" in the filter and instantly sees every flat-rate option.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

Carrier template lists sometimes need massaging before they are usable as a reference. SheetXAI handles it in the same prompt.

When you want the table sorted differently

You want USPS templates first because that is your primary carrier, with all others after.

Fetch all Shippo carrier parcel templates and write carrier, template name, token, and dimensions into my Package Codes tab. Sort USPS templates first, then all other carriers alphabetically.

When you want to add a "Best For" notes column

Your team ships mostly soft goods and small electronics. You want a column suggesting which templates suit your product mix.

Fetch all Shippo carrier parcel templates and write carrier, template name, token, and dimensions into my Package Codes tab. Add a "Best For" column based on template size: packages under 1 lb as "documents or soft goods," 1 to 5 lb as "small electronics," and larger as "general goods."

When you only want templates from your active carriers

Your account has USPS and FedEx activated. You do not need UPS or DHL templates in the reference.

Fetch Shippo carrier parcel templates for USPS and FedEx only. Write carrier, template name, token, and dimensions into my Package Codes tab, sorted by carrier then by template name.

When you want to pull the template list and cross-reference against templates used in the last 90 days

You want to flag templates your team has never actually used so you can trim the reference.

Fetch all Shippo carrier parcel templates and write them into the Templates tab of my Package Codes workbook. Then fetch Shippo transactions from the last 90 days and check which package codes appear. In the Templates tab, add a "Used in Last 90 Days" column and mark each template "yes" or "no" based on whether it appears in the transaction data.

The pattern: fetch the reference data and annotate it with actual usage history in one prompt. Your team gets a reference that reflects real behavior.
