How to Connect StoreRocket to Excel (4 Methods Compared)

The Problem With Getting Data In and Out of StoreRocket

You have an Excel workbook full of store data — addresses, hours, franchise IDs, contact details. You need to confirm which StoreRocket account is connected, pull account metadata into the workbook, or push location updates back — in a way that doesn't take an afternoon every time.

StoreRocket is good at powering interactive store locators on the web. But moving data between it and your Excel workbook is more work than it should be. The usual flow is export-edit-reimport, with no good way to verify you are even working on the right account before you start.

Below are the four common ways teams handle this. Only the last one scales.

Method 1: Manual Copy-Paste

The default. Open StoreRocket, navigate to account settings or the locations list, copy what you need, switch to Excel, paste. Or the reverse: export from StoreRocket as CSV, open it in Excel, remap the columns to match your workbook layout.

When this works: one-off, fewer than 20 locations, no recurring schedule.

When it breaks: anything recurring, anything where you need to confirm account state before acting, anything where field formats (addresses, hours strings, phone numbers) don't survive the paste. The cleanup is on you every time.

Method 2: Power Automate

Wire up Power Automate to watch your Excel table. When a new row is added, the flow fires an API call into StoreRocket. Or the reverse — pull StoreRocket updates back into the workbook.

This works for event-driven moments: a single new location added to the table triggers a record in StoreRocket. Done cleanly.

This fails for batch and analytical work: anything that operates on many rows at once, anything that needs to check account state before writing, anything where the schema changes across location types. Flows also break silently when column names change in the workbook, and the debugging is non-trivial.

Method 3: The Previous Generation — Connector Add-Ons

Until recently, the best option for repeatable spreadsheet ↔ StoreRocket workflows was a category of add-ons that let you manually configure column mappings and save templates. You picked your range, tagged your fields, saved a config, and ran it.

That was a real step up from copy-paste. Output was consistent, configs were reusable, the team didn't have to redo formatting every run.

But you were still responsible for the template design, the field mapping, the schedule, the conditional logic about which locations to include, the renaming of columns. The tool moved the data through, but the thinking was still on you. And the moment your workbook structure changed, your config broke until someone went back in and fixed it.

This is the previous generation. It worked, but it asked a lot of the operator.

The Easy Way: Using SheetXAI in Excel

There is a different way entirely. SheetXAI is an AI agent that lives inside your Excel workbook. It reads the workbook, understands what you are looking at, and through its built-in StoreRocket integration it can push to or pull from StoreRocket for you. No template configuration, no automation glue, no summarizing your data by hand. You just ask.

Example 1: Confirm account details before a bulk location update

"Get the current StoreRocket authenticated user details and paste them into row 1 of this Excel sheet — I need to confirm the right account is connected before updating store data."

SheetXAI pulls the authenticated user name, email address, and plan tier from StoreRocket and writes them into row 1. You can see at a glance whether you are operating on the right account before touching any location data.

Example 2: Capture account metadata alongside your location data

"Get the StoreRocket authenticated user details and add them as a header row at the top of the Locations worksheet — include account name, email, and plan in columns A, B, and C."

The pattern: instead of navigating to settings and copying by hand, you ask for the verification and the writeback in one prompt. SheetXAI handles the field lookup inline.
