Turn a Product Roadmap Sheet Into a Shareable Gamma Document

The Scenario

You are a product manager. Thirty H2 features sitting in a Google Sheet. Columns for feature name, description, priority, quarter, and team owner.

The exec team wants the roadmap. You have sent them the raw sheet twice and gotten the same feedback both times, this is hard to read and we cannot share it externally.

What they actually want:

  • A clean Gamma doc grouped by quarter
  • Priorities visible at a glance
  • Owners next to each item
  • A public URL they can paste in Slack or send to a customer

The slow version: you spend Tuesday afternoon reading rows out of the sheet, typing summaries into Gamma's prompt box, regenerating until the structure makes sense, and rebuilding it every time a feature gets reshuffled.

The fast version is one prompt.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI reads your sheet and writes the Gamma prompt for you, so you do not have to summarize the roadmap by hand.

Open the SheetXAI sidebar and type:

Take this feature list and generate a Gamma roadmap document. Group features by quarter, sort within each quarter by priority, show owner assignments for each item, and add a one-paragraph intro at the top describing the H2 focus. Use a professional theme.

SheetXAI reads all thirty rows, groups them by quarter, calls Gamma with the structured prompt, and writes the Gamma URL into a cell. Click. Done.

What You Get

A Gamma document, not a deck (this matters for sharing), organized by quarter:

  • Q3 section — features sorted by priority, owner visible per row
  • Q4 section — same structure
  • One-paragraph intro at the top describing the H2 focus, written from the actual mix of features in the sheet

The intro is grounded in the data. If most of your H2 items are infrastructure work, it says so. If you have a heavy customer-facing push, it reflects that.

The output is a public Gamma URL, which is what makes this format work for sharing. Paste it in Slack, embed it in a Notion page, send it to a customer who asked about your direction.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

Roadmap sheets are rarely clean. SheetXAI handles cleanup and the doc in the same prompt.

When some features are missing priority

Half the rows have priority filled in, the rest are blank.

For any feature missing a priority, infer one based on the description and the team owner, then put the value in the priority column. Then generate the Gamma roadmap doc grouped by quarter, sorted within each quarter by priority.

When stakeholders want it grouped by team instead of quarter

Same data, different roll-up.

Generate a Gamma roadmap doc grouped by team owner instead of by quarter. For each team, list the features they own in priority order, and add a summary count at the top of each team section showing how many features that team is shipping in H2.

When the roadmap spans multiple tabs

The Engineering tab has eng features, the Marketing tab has marketing features, the Design tab has design. You want one consolidated view.

Combine the H2 features from the Engineering, Marketing, and Design tabs into one list. Generate a single Gamma roadmap doc grouped by quarter, with each feature tagged by team. Add a top-of-doc summary showing total feature count per team.

When old features are still in the sheet

Some rows are leftovers from H1 that nobody cleaned out.

Filter to features marked as planned, in progress, or shipped in H2 only. Drop everything else. Then generate the Gamma roadmap doc.

The pattern: tell SheetXAI what to ignore, what to fix, and what to ship in one prompt. The cleanup happens inline.
