Export Keyword Ranking History From Keyword.com Into a Google Sheet

The Scenario

It's the last Wednesday of the month and the client performance deck is due Thursday morning. You need 180 days of ranking history for 50 target keywords across two domains, plus a weekly movement summary showing how many keywords improved, declined, or held steady each week. All of it should land in a single Google Sheet so the account lead can drop the charts directly into the presentation.

The bad version:

  • Export ranking data from Keyword.com for domain one, download the CSV, open it in Sheets, reformat the date column because it exports in a locale format that doesn't sort correctly.
  • Repeat for domain two, paste it below, manually de-duplicate the date column, write a VLOOKUP to cross-reference keyword IDs.
  • Build the movement summary table by hand — count the "Up" rows, count the "Down" rows, realize the filter is off by one week, rebuild.

The deck is due at 9 AM and the movement table still doesn't match the numbers in the Keyword.com UI.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI sits inside your Google Sheet, reads what's there, and talks to Keyword.com directly. It knows how to pull historical ranking data and structure it into a tab that's ready for charting — without you touching a CSV.

Pull 180-day Google ranking history from Keyword.com for every keyword ID in column A of this sheet and paste daily position data into a new tab named 'Ranking History', with columns for date, keyword ID, domain, and position.

What You Get

  • A new tab called "Ranking History" created in your sheet.
  • One row per keyword per day, covering the full 180-day window.
  • Columns: date (formatted as YYYY-MM-DD), keyword ID, domain, and position.
  • Keywords with no ranking data on a given date written as blank cells — not zeros — so your charts don't misread gaps as rank-100 drops.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

You need weekly movement summaries, not raw daily data

Fetch weekly keyword movement metrics for Keyword.com project 4821 and write a summary table to this sheet showing keyword text, current rank, 7-day change, 30-day change, and whether the trend is 'Up', 'Down', or 'Flat'.

Keyword IDs in column A are mixed with empty rows and header text

Read column A of this sheet and skip any row where the cell is blank or contains non-numeric text. For the remaining rows, pull 180-day ranking history from Keyword.com and write the results to a new tab named 'Ranking History' with columns for date, keyword ID, domain, and position.

You need data for two separate Keyword.com projects consolidated into one tab

Pull 180-day ranking history from Keyword.com project 4821 for keyword IDs in column A, and from Keyword.com project 5102 for keyword IDs in column B. Combine all results into a new tab named 'Combined History' with columns for date, keyword ID, project ID, domain, and position — sorted by date ascending.

One prompt to clean stale data, pull fresh history, and flag regressions

Delete everything in the 'Ranking History' tab below row 1. Then pull 180-day Google ranking history from Keyword.com for every keyword ID in column A of the 'Keywords' tab, write it to 'Ranking History' with columns for date, keyword ID, domain, and position, and in the 'Keywords' tab write 'REGRESSION' in column C for any keyword whose current rank is more than 10 positions worse than its rank 30 days ago.

Ask for the history pull, the cleanup, and the regression flag in one prompt — the sheet and the Keyword.com data stay in sync in a single operation.
