Export Tapfiliate Commissions Into a Google Sheet for Analysis

The Scenario

It's the first week of April. Your VP just forwarded you a calendar invite: "Q1 Affiliate Commission Review — Friday at 10." The ask is a pivot table showing total commissions by affiliate, broken down by program and approval status.

You have a Tapfiliate account with 3,400 commission records spread across Q1. You do not have a sheet with any of that data.

The bad version:

  • Go to Tapfiliate, navigate to the commissions report, set the date filter for January through March, click Export CSV.
  • Open the file in Sheets. The column headers are not what you expected. Affiliate name is split across two columns. Status codes are abbreviations your pivot table doesn't know how to group.
  • Spend 45 minutes reformatting before you can even start the analysis.

The meeting is Friday. It's Wednesday afternoon. The pivot table doesn't exist yet and neither does clean data.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent that lives inside your Google Sheet. It connects to Tapfiliate directly and writes the commission records into your sheet in whatever structure you need — no CSV export, no column reformatting.

Pull all Tapfiliate commissions from January through March and write them to this sheet — one row per commission with affiliate name, program, amount, status, and date

What You Get

  • One row per commission record written into the active sheet, starting at row 2.
  • Columns populated: affiliate name, program name, commission amount, approval status (as a readable label, not a status code), and conversion date.
  • The data lands pivot-ready. No reformatting step between the pull and the analysis.
  • 3,400 rows pulled in one operation, not one export-then-import cycle.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

You only need commissions for specific affiliates

The VP cares about the top 20 partners by volume. You have their affiliate IDs in column A of a separate tab.

Fetch Tapfiliate commissions from January through March only for the affiliate IDs listed in column A of the Partners tab, and write the results to the Commissions tab — include affiliate name, program, amount, status, and date

Status values need to be bucketed for the pivot

Tapfiliate returns several approval sub-statuses that your finance team wants collapsed into three buckets: Approved, Pending, and Rejected.

Pull all Q1 commissions from Tapfiliate and write them to this sheet. Map the status field as follows: approved maps to Approved, pending and new map to Pending, and declined and reversed map to Rejected. Include affiliate name, program, amount, mapped status, and date

Commissions span multiple programs and you need one sheet per program

You have three affiliate programs and the finance team wants each one in its own tab.

Pull all Tapfiliate commissions from January through March. Create a separate tab for each program and write the commissions for that program into the corresponding tab — columns: affiliate name, amount, status, date

Clean, filter, and analyze in a single prompt

Pull all Tapfiliate commissions from Q1. Exclude any with a Rejected status. Normalize the affiliate name column so it's consistently capitalized. Write the results to the Q1 Commissions tab and add a summary row at the bottom showing total approved commission per program

Formatting and filtering happen in the same pass as the data pull.
