Pull Google Business Reviews Into an Excel Workbook With DataForSEO

The Scenario

You are a multi-location restaurant owner. You have 12 locations in an Excel workbook and the monthly reputation report is due to the ops team on the first Monday of the month.

Each location needs the latest 50 Google reviews — rating, text, and date — in one workbook.

It is the Thursday before.

The bad version:

  • You log into Google Business for location 1 and scroll through reviews
  • You copy each review into the workbook one at a time
  • Forty reviews in, Excel auto-corrects your pasted date format to something unusable
  • You spend 20 minutes fixing date formatting for location 1 before moving to location 2
  • You ask an assistant to handle the other eleven and she pastes everything into one column
  • You receive a workbook on Sunday night that needs three hours of reformatting before it is usable.

The fast version is one prompt.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI is an AI agent inside your Excel workbook that reads your location list, calls DataForSEO's Google Business reviews endpoint for each location, and writes every review into a structured tab.

Open the SheetXAI sidebar and type:

For each business name and location in the Locations tab, create a DataForSEO Google Business reviews task and pull the 50 most recent reviews with rating, text, and date into the ReviewsData tab.

SheetXAI submits a reviews task for each location, waits for completion, and writes all reviews into ReviewsData in a consistent format. Twelve locations, up to 600 rows, one workbook.

What You Get

A ReviewsData tab with one row per review:

  • Location — the source business name and address
  • Rating — star rating 1 through 5
  • Review Text — full review text
  • Date — formatted consistently across all locations
  • Reviewer Name — if available

All 12 locations, consistently formatted. Build a PivotTable to compare average ratings by location, or filter to 1-star reviews to find urgent issues across all sites.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

Multi-location workbooks have messy data and evolving business names. SheetXAI handles the variations inline.

When business names in the workbook do not match Google Business exactly

Your workbook has informal location names that do not match the registered listing name.

For each row in my Locations tab, search DataForSEO to verify the exact Google Business listing name for that location and address. Write the verified name into column C. Then pull the 50 most recent reviews for each verified listing into the ReviewsData tab.

When you want to flag locations with a surge in recent low ratings

You want to catch any location that got hit with a wave of 1-star reviews in the past 30 days.

Pull the 50 most recent Google reviews for each location in my Locations tab. Write all reviews into ReviewsData. Add a column called RecentAlert: mark "alert" for any location that received 3 or more 1-star reviews in the past 30 days.

When you need reviews separated by language for response routing

Some locations get reviews in Spanish that go to a different response team.

Pull the 50 most recent Google reviews for each location in my Locations tab. Write all reviews into ReviewsData. Add a Language column and classify each review as English, Spanish, or Other based on the review text.

When you need the full review pull plus a monthly summary for the ops team in one shot

The ops meeting needs the data and a summary table, not just raw reviews.

Pull the 50 most recent Google reviews for each of the 12 locations in my Locations tab. Write all results into ReviewsData. Then create a Summary tab with one row per location showing average rating, total reviews in the past 30 days, and a one-sentence characterization of the most common theme in recent reviews for that location.

The pattern: the data pull and the written summary happen in one prompt — the Monday report is ready without a second pass.
