Pull Reddit Ads Ad Group Metrics Into a Google Sheet to Find Top Segments

The Scenario

You are a performance marketer running five Reddit Ads campaigns for a SaaS brand. Each campaign has multiple ad groups targeting different subreddit clusters. Your budget review is Monday morning, and it is Friday at 4 PM.

You know the account is spending. You do not know which ad groups are actually working. The campaign-level data masks everything.

The bad version of this Friday:

  • You open Ads Manager and navigate to the ad groups view
  • You set the date range, export a CSV, and open it in a new sheet
  • You realize the export only shows ad groups from the campaign you happened to have selected
  • You go back, select all campaigns, re-export, and get a CSV with 47 rows and mixed campaign names
  • You spend an hour sorting, adding a campaign name lookup, and building a pivot table to find the top performers
  • The pivot table will not sort correctly because two ad group names have trailing spaces.

The fast version is one prompt.

The Easy Way: One Prompt in SheetXAI

SheetXAI reads your sheet and pulls ad group data from the Reddit Ads API directly, so you never have to hand-build a pivot table to answer a simple question about targeting performance.

Open the SheetXAI sidebar and type:

Get Reddit Ads performance broken down by ad group for the last 14 days. Write ad group name, campaign name, spend, impressions, clicks, and CPC into columns A through F. Sort by CPC ascending so the most efficient ad groups appear first.

SheetXAI calls the Reddit Ads API at the ad group level, formats the response into the columns you asked for, and writes the data into the sheet. You see every ad group across all five campaigns in one table, sorted by efficiency, before end of day.

What You Get

A flat ad group performance table with all active ad groups across all campaigns:

  • Column A — ad group name
  • Column B — parent campaign name
  • Columns C through F — spend, impressions, clicks, CPC
  • Sorted by CPC ascending — the most efficient targeting segments at the top

The data is already at the right level of granularity. You do not need a pivot table. You do not need a VLOOKUP to pull in campaign names. SheetXAI writes it flat.

Want to filter further? Ask SheetXAI to flag ad groups spending more than $200 with a CPC above $3.00, or to add a column for impressions share by campaign. It adjusts.

What If the Data Is Not Quite Ready

Ad group reporting scenarios are rarely as clean as the example. SheetXAI handles the edge cases in the same prompt.

When ad group names use inconsistent naming conventions

Your team named ad groups differently across campaigns. Some use subreddit clusters ("r/techhumor + r/programming"), some use audience descriptors ("Tech Enthusiasts — Broad"), and some are just sequential ("Ad Group 1").

Get Reddit Ads ad group performance for the last 14 days. In column G, add a tag column: if the ad group name contains "r/" it is community-targeted, otherwise it is interest-targeted. Sort by spend descending within each tag.

When you need to find underperforming ad groups to pause

Budget review is coming and you need a clear picture of what to cut.

Fetch Reddit Ads ad group performance for the last 30 days. Flag any ad group where spend exceeds $150 and CPC is greater than $5.00 by writing "REVIEW" into column G. Flag any ad group where impressions are below 500 by writing "LOW REACH" into column G. Leave the rest blank. Sort by spend descending.

When a specific campaign's ad groups need a dedicated view

The campaign running for the enterprise persona is the one leadership cares about. You need just that campaign's ad groups broken out.

Get Reddit Ads ad group performance for campaign named "Enterprise Awareness — Q2" for the last 30 days. Write ad group name, spend, impressions, clicks, CPC, and conversion count into columns A through F. Add a totals row at the bottom. Sort by spend descending.

When you need ad group data combined with community targeting details for a targeting plan

You are rebuilding the targeting strategy and need to know which subreddits each ad group targets alongside how it is performing.

Fetch all Reddit Ads ad groups for my account and their performance for the last 30 days. Write ad group name in column A, campaign name in column B, target communities in column C (comma-separated subreddit names), spend in column D, CPC in column E, and CTR in column F. Sort by CPC ascending. This is for a targeting audit.

The pattern: instead of pulling a raw export and spending an hour cleaning it, you describe the exact table you need and SheetXAI builds it against the live API data.
