How to Connect Snapchat to Excel (4 Methods Compared)

The Problem With Getting Workbook Data In and Out of Snapchat

You have an Excel workbook full of data — hashed customer emails queued for a re-engagement campaign, budget allocations broken out by ad squad, a creative testing tracker with 25 rows of video performance metrics. You need it in Snapchat, or you need Snapchat data back in the workbook, without rebuilding the process every time.

Snapchat's Marketing API is capable. But the gap between "data sitting in Excel" and "data you can act on inside Ads Manager" is bigger than it looks. The default flow involves downloading a CSV report from Ads Manager, opening it in Excel, reformatting the date column, deleting the subtotal rows, renaming the headers, and saving. Or the reverse: maintaining a workbook manually, then re-entering values into the Ads Manager UI.

Below are the four common ways teams handle this. Only the last one scales.

Method 1: Manual Copy-Paste

The default. Export from Ads Manager, open the file in Excel, reformat, work with it.

If this happens once a month for a client report, the pain is contained. If you're checking ad squad performance twice a week, or managing six brand accounts where each client expects a Monday morning number, the CSV export-reformat-reformat-reformat routine becomes its own recurring cost. Snapchat's report builder returns different column sets depending on how you configure it — so even the same report pulled two weeks in a row may need different cleanup before it matches your workbook's structure.

Method 2: Power Automate

Power Automate has connectors you can chain to call the Snapchat API and write results back to an Excel file in OneDrive or SharePoint.

Before going further: are you comfortable with REST connectors, field mapping schemas, and OAuth token configuration? If those feel unfamiliar, this is not the right path — jump to Method 3 or 4.

For those who are: the automation works. You authenticate with Snapchat's API, pick the right endpoint, map response fields to worksheet columns, and set a schedule. Setup takes time, but it runs.

The catch is structural: Power Automate fires one row at a time.

Pulling forty ad squad records through an automated flow means forty individual API calls, forty lines of run history, and a debugging session the moment one of them fails on a field type mismatch.

You probably just need the spend and CPA numbers. You probably have no idea how to configure a Snapchat API connector in Power Automate — and that's completely reasonable. So you hand it to whoever on your team handles this, and you're waiting on a reply. And once you need to aggregate data, filter by date window, or join stats against your planning workbook, you've left Power Automate's native capabilities behind.

Method 3: The Previous Generation — Connector Add-Ons

Until recently, the standard repeatable option for Excel-to-Snapchat workflows was a category of add-ons that let you define a saved field mapping: specify your range, tag the fields, save the config, run it on demand.

That was a real improvement over manual exports. Configs were reusable, output was consistent format, and the team didn't have to reconstruct the process each week.

But you were still the one designing the mapping, maintaining it when Snapchat's API updated, and debugging it every time a campaign was renamed or a column disappeared. The data got through. The cognitive overhead of keeping it working stayed on you. And the first time someone changed the account structure or added a new dimension, the config silently drifted until someone caught it.

This is the previous generation. It was useful, but it required ongoing maintenance.

The Easy Way: Using SheetXAI in Excel

There is a different way entirely. SheetXAI is an AI agent that lives inside your Excel workbook. It reads the workbook, understands what you are looking at, and through its built-in Snapchat integration it can push to or pull from the Snapchat Marketing API for you. No mapping config, no automation scaffolding, no CSV reformatting. You just ask.

Example 1: Pull campaign stats for a quarterly review

Get stats for all campaigns in Snapchat ad account ID abc123 for Q1 2026 and write campaign name, impressions, swipes, spend, and conversions into columns A through E of the Campaign Stats sheet

SheetXAI calls the Snapchat API, retrieves the data for the specified date range, and populates each campaign into a new row — names in column A, impressions in B, swipes in C, spend in D, conversions in E.

Example 2: Upload a customer list from column A

Create a Snapchat audience segment called Holiday Buyers 2025 in ad account abc123 and add all SHA-256 hashed emails from column A of the Upload List sheet, processing in batches of 100,000

Instead of exporting to CSV and uploading manually through Ads Manager, you describe the task and SheetXAI handles the API call and batching automatically.
