Analyzing Images in Bulk with SheetXAI

Overview

Overview

SheetXAI now offers a streamlined approach to analyze and describe images directly in your Google Sheets through the SAI formula. This efficient method lets you generate descriptive content for multiple images while saving significant time and effort.

How to Analyze Images with the SAI Formula

Important Note: SheetXAI supports the #SAI command format that automatically transforms into the right spreadsheet syntax. Simply type #SAI followed by your instruction and use # to reference cells or columns. The #SAI format works in both Google Sheets and Excel. If you need the native Google Sheets vs Excel formula syntax, use the SAI Commands Builder to generate it.

Step 1: Prepare Your Image URLs

  • Add image URLs to cells in your spreadsheet

  • Ensure URLs are properly formatted and accessible

Step 2: Use the SAI Formula

  • Enter the command in this format: #SAI IMAGE request #A (where #A contains the image URL)

  • For example: #SAI IMAGE describe this product in detail #A

  • The system will recognize requests that start with "IMAGE" and contain image URLs

Note: The #SAI format automatically transforms into the right spreadsheet syntax every few seconds when the chat panel is open. If you need the native Google Sheets vs Excel formula syntax, use the SAI Commands Builder to generate it.

Step 3: Customize Your Requests

  • Tailor your image analysis requests based on your needs

Examples:

  • #SAI IMAGE create detailed alt text #B

  • #SAI IMAGE identify main colors and objects #C

Step 4: Review Results

  • The formula will generate descriptions directly in your spreadsheet

  • Results appear in the cell where the formula is placed

Technical Notes

  • Works only with direct image URLs (starting with http/https and ending with jpg, png, or any other image extension)

  • Processing time varies based on image complexity

  • Provides comprehensive analysis including subjects, colors, and context

  • Scales efficiently for both small and large image sets

Use Cases

This feature is perfect for:

  • Creating alt text for website images

  • Cataloging product images with descriptions

  • Analyzing visual content for research

  • Generating captions for social media posts

  • Documenting visual assets in a standardized format
