The Problem
SheetXAI isn't working correctly, or you're seeing outdated information, even after making changes to settings or configurations.
Why Cache Issues Occur
Sometimes cached data causes problems:
- Browser stores old version of the add-on
- Settings changes aren't reflected immediately
- Stale authentication tokens
- Outdated interface elements
How to Fix Cache Issues
Step 1: Close and Reopen SheetXAI
- Close SheetXAI completely (close the sidebar/panel)
- Wait a few seconds
- Reopen SheetXAI from Extensions → SheetXAI → Open Chat
- Test your feature again
Step 2: Refresh Your Browser (Google Sheets)
- Close SheetXAI completely
- Refresh your browser:
- Press F5 (Windows/Linux)
- Press Cmd+R (Mac)
- Or click the refresh button in your browser
- Reopen SheetXAI
- Test your feature again
Step 3: Hard Refresh (If Regular Refresh Doesn't Work)
- Close SheetXAI completely
- Perform a hard refresh:
- Windows/Linux: Press Ctrl+Shift+R or Ctrl+F5
- Mac: Press Cmd+Shift+R
- Reopen SheetXAI
- Test your feature again
Step 4: Restart Excel (For Excel Users)
- Close SheetXAI completely
- Close Excel entirely
- Reopen Excel and your spreadsheet
- Reopen SheetXAI
- Test your feature again
Step 5: Clear Browser Cache (If Issues Persist)
If the above steps don't work, you may need to clear your browser cache:
- Open your browser's settings
- Find "Clear browsing data" or "Clear cache"
- Select "Cached images and files"
- Clear the cache
- Refresh the page and reopen SheetXAI
When to Clear Cache
You should clear cache and refresh if:
- Settings changes aren't taking effect
- You're seeing outdated interface elements
- Features worked before but stopped working
- You've updated SheetXAI or made configuration changes
Quick Checklist
- Closed SheetXAI completely
- Refreshed the browser (Google Sheets) or restarted Excel
- Reopened SheetXAI
- Tested the feature again
- Tried hard refresh if regular refresh didn't work
